I am an online, bilingual (Spanish) psychotherapist, currently residing in Mexico, specializing in the treatment of adults, children, families, and couples struggling with a variety of issues affecting their daily lives. In my work with adults, I am trained to use different modalities to treat depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as less severe mood disorders arising from losses, life transitions and a variety of different stressors. I will collaborate to build an individual treatment plan that is tailored specifically to your long term needs and goals while focusing on reducing symptoms and improving daily functioning. In my work with families, I focus on issues that interfere with parent/child and sibling relationships, problems that cause friction between family members such as obstacles to communication and trust, as well as generational conflict and issues of acculturation. In my work with couples, I focus on issues of communication and trust, and help you explore and define current dysfunctional relationship patterns stemming from past traumas that might be causing obstacles to intimacy. I received my Master of Social Work degree from the Smith College School of Social Work in 2006. Before working solely in private practice, I worked in outpatient mental health clinics in New York City with diverse populations. Additionally, I hold a Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from Columbia University in New York City, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Theatre from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have sliding scale fees for those individuals who are unable to pay my standard fees, since I believe strongly that treatment should be made as widely available as possible, regardless of ability to pay.
